Eliza Waage
As a 4th year undergraduate student in Public Health, I have been involved in various forms of community and behavioral health work. I served as an AmeriCorps member for a food pantry in Iowa, preparing the pantry for an expansion and state audit in 2021. Following this experience, I joined the Community and Behavioral Health Dept. here and worked on HPV, COVID-19, and food insecurity projects with Iowa HHS and the UI Prevention Research Center. There, I collaborated on qualitative coding and analysis and interviewing, database research, and literature reviews. Simultaneously, I worked as a respite care worker with the Arc of Southeast Iowa, lifting individuals to independence in home living and jobs. I joined this current team May 2023, leading on e-cigarette and TikTok data collection, coding, and analysis.
